Whatever marketing material you are producing, whether it’s a brochure, a flyer, or a website, it’s completely useless if no-one reads it! The headline is the first thing that your readers will see and the headline is what determines whether they will read on or not.
So it is vital that your headline is one that will attract your ideal client, draw them in, and make them want to read more. Without an effective headline your marketing material will not be read and will not be acted upon.

The Home Page of any website is the page the majority of your visitors are likely to see first. For this reason, the Home Page needs to act as the entry portal to the rest of the site.
It needs to attract your ideal prospects, and repel the people you don’t want to have as customers.
It needs to establish you as the expert in your field for your target market.
And it needs to draw those ideal prospects quickly into the deeper pages on your site to find the answers they’ve been looking for.

The other day I was chatting to a friend about her recent email campaign. She was complaining about very poor open rates.
“The last email I sent only had a 4% open rate, normally I get 11%-12%.”
When I send out emails to my list I tend to get a 35% – 40% open rate.
So what’s the difference? And how can you improve your open rates?

Getting your business in the news is (usually) a good thing.
None of us can forget Gerald Ratner’s faux pas that destroyed Ratner’s Jewellers, but for most of us, any news is good news.
And the way to get your company and yourself featured in the news is to send Press Releases.
However, the vast majority of Press Releases end up being ignored and thrown away because they fail to follow the fundamental rules of Press Releases.
That’s what I’m going to share with you here.

One of the services I offer is a Copy Critique.
This is where I’ll take a look at a piece of your copy – a web page, sales letter, advertisement or whatever – and then we spend 30 minutes on the phone discussing how it could be made even better.
Just a few weeks ago I was sent this advertisement to give my feedback on. Note, I’ve blanked out any identifying details to save the client’s blushes!

Maybe I shouldn’t expect something for nothing but I’m really ticked off right now…
I’ve just listened to a 90 minute teleseminar from a copywriter who promised a “training” call that would share 3 secrets to writing copy that attracts high quality, high paying clients. The sales pitch promoting the webinar had 6 bullet points about what would be delivered.

Being number one on Google isn’t enough!
Everywhere you turn people are telling you the Holy Grail is to get to number one on Google for your specific keywords.
I’m going to share with you why that’s not enough. Being number one on Google will get you visitors but if your website doesn’t convert those visitors into customers or leads then it’s a waste of your SEO efforts.
